A free online event to support black professionals navigate the digital highway will be held on 26 February 2021. The event is organised by the Black Young Professional (BYP) Network.

“Our Digital Future Summit” is the must-attend event for Black Professionals across all industries to understand how the future of technology will transform their careers.

Industries are growing & evolving at a rapid pace. Unfortunately, the black community is not always in the room discussing these developments. Mainstream research has demonstrated black professionals are not getting the job opportunities and many don't even know the products that are being built which affect our day to day life.

Benefitting from technology

However, the African Caribbean community needs to be part of transforming businesses and industries, and being ahead of the curve. This is to ensure that the wider community is not left behind. Essentially, to ensure that the technology that is built, is also built by us...for us.

If you are not experimenting, if you’re not asking questions about how to navigate & plug into the disruption, forming new ecosystems, then your organisation is at risk” says the Andrew P. Vaz, Global Chief Innovation Officer at Deloitte.

Our Digital Future Summit will cut through all the noise and rumours of “Will robots take my job?” or “Is my social media always listening to me?”. The event will provide attendess with an expanded bank of knowledge on how the change in technology impacts you. More importantly, what your role in the wider digital transformation is.

As a community, we know we are the innovators. But we rarely capitalise from our creativity, we've seen this time and time again from history to the modern-day, as a collective the black community has not benefitted. It's time to ensure history doesn't repeat itself with technology at the helm.
